Savage Cycles is a two-year old custom motorcycle builder out of Frostburg, MD, which is way up in the mountains. We went to visit their shop on the day of the grand opening of their new location, and what a new location it is!
Owners Sean Snyder, Michael Dixon, Jeremy Gordon, and Lorrie, their one employee and Sean's wife, as well as many of their friends and family had spent the previous two months of their time working 14 plus hours a day, 7 days a week to get the shop and showroom completed. And it shows! This is one of the greatest shops that we have visited so far!
When we asked for what has lead up to this, the guys let us know that 'we wanted to build a showroom like no other. We started with an empty building that we bought. We started with the shop part which we added another floor to [in order to] accommodate parts.
'We had our good friend Chad Cutter rewire the whole building. We also poured a new floor with heat in the concrete. It turned out really nice, but it was time for the showroom. We were going for an Industrial theme. We laid over 7,000 pieces of brick in the showroom, and incorporated skulls throughout the brickwork. The ceiling is airbrushed to look like metal panels. We put in a steel walkway, and even a hanging bar. When it was all said and done, it turned out more like a Dungeon. We call it our Industrial Dungeon. [All of the work] was worth it, seeing people's reaction on our Opening Day.' They just wanted to build a shop and showroom that people would remember, and there is no doubt that they have succeeded!
