Pebble Pushers
Every year around September and October, mini-truckers on the East Coast get that uneasy feeling that winter will be approaching soon. That time of the year where we all tear our trucks down to out do each other for next year. We all want to do that "last show" before we pack it up for the winter, and what better show to do that at than Pebble Pushers Scr8pfest in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
This was my first year to Scr8pfest and I couldn't wait to go. I met some ES members in DC and we started the six hour trip to NC. Of couse, you can't do a road trip without stopping at a Petro at 1:00 in the morning to see what's going on. We left Petro with alot of snacks, some chrome trucker girls and a red wings hat!!! Long story behind the Red Wings hat, but this article is about Pebble Pushers, not a hat.
We rolled into Kannapolis around 2:00 am and some fellow club members were still chillin' and drinkin' in the parking lot. We were tired and ready to go to bed so we would be birght and bushy-tailed the next day. We awoke at 9ish and cruized over to the show.
Pebble Pushes puts on a really tight show. They got everyone into the show, which was held at a local baseball field, despite the amount of vehicles that they had to control. We set up camp on the showfield and made our way around the show. The quality of rides at the show this year was awesome. Pebble Pushers has some of the nicest trucks on the East Coast right now. The weather was great on Saturday too - sunny and 80º. I wished I had my bike since it was so nice.
We chilled at the show and then went back to the hotel for some R&R before dinner. We checked out a local steakhouse for dinner, and it was entertaining as usual. It always seems to be Pecker's birthday. That man must be 100 by now. After dinner we started back to the show for the evening festivites, but just as we got there it started to pour down rain. This monsoon only lasted for about 10 or 15 minutes, but seemed to put a damper on the rest of the evening. So we went back to the local Steak & Shake and had some milkshakes! This place rocks!!!
