“Lead East is not a car show, it is a giant 50's PARTY, offering more unique events than
15 normal car shows added together. If you love the music, cars, hair, clothes and dancing of the
1950's, join us to relive and revisit the best decade in history.”
Ken and Terra joined the Lead East trip down memory lane during the weekend of
September 2nd through 5th in Parsippany, New Jersey. This show sounds like one big giant
party; if it was a party that any car or truck show threw today for the current generation of
builders, we would be thrown out of the venue instantly, and never invited back. But, because
this party is for the generation that grew up in the “good old days”, it’s all okay.
As their own website says, “While there are trillions of other “car shows”, we
GUARANTEE there is no other event remotely like this on the planet.” Lead East is a show that
fills three adjacent parking lots with over 1,400 classic cars that come from all across the United
States, available to be viewed day or night.
During the weekend, there are tons of tunes being played over the loud speakers, live
Doo Wop, and fresh bands playing on stage Friday through Sunday.
