Well, we had finished things up at York Open House, and were in the car again for
the five hour drive to Hartford Connecticut for the Super Sunday Fall Finale show the next
day, where we had a booth.
Arriving in Hartford that night, we of course had hotel issues. See, it seems that they
built a Motel 6 and a Super 8 right next to each other. Who does that? If you have one
hotel with a number in the name, why would your competitor - who also has a number in
their name - build right next to you??? Anyways, after we figured out which one I had
made the reservation at, we switched rooms three times before I got tired, told them that
their hotel was a piece of crap hole in the earth, and I was going to the other number hotel.
So, that’s taken care of. Off we go to find something to eat at 10:00 at night. We
found this awesome little strip of restaurants and clubs in the outskirts of Hartford, that would
be great to go bar hopping from on a warm summer night, with cobblestone streets and all.
We picked a restaurant that had good food, and were seated right in the middle of a severe
Red Sox vs. Phillies game that was on all of the TV’s around us. We had to watch the
game just so we weren’t surprised when the rest of the bar leapt up and screamed at the
TV’s. But all in all, it was a good night!
The next morning, we were up bright and early to go man our booth at the show.
This show is the wrap-up of the season to it’s sister opener show, the Super Sunday
Motorcycle Show, which takes place in May. Both of the shows bring in big-name builders,
with the Indian Larry memorial tribute in the center of everything. Also at the show were the
bikes built by Eddie Trotta, Jessie James, and many more.
This year, the Super Sunday Motorcycle Show will be held May 8th and the Super
Sunday Motorcycle Show Fall Finale will be held October 2nd, both at the Connecticut
Expo Center in Hartford. You can find out more about the shows at
