Last year we kicked off the year with a trip to New York City the first weekend in
January to see the Cycle World show. This year, we decided to see the show in
Washington DC the weekend of January 14-16 instead.
The Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows travels to 12 major cities
throughout the US, including San Francisco, Dallas, Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, New York,
Ohio, Minneapolis, Chicago & Detroit. And, they offer something for everyone - from riders
being able to get their helmets & gear checked for safety to the Kid’s Cycle Center, which
offers a plethora of vehicles, gear and fun, all miniaturized, all for kids.
And then they have The Factory - a showcase of the latest aftermarket products and
essential riding gear where motorheads can compare and discuss everything from
performance parts to the latest communications hardware with manufacturer representatives,
including Arai, Avon, Bell Powersports, Chatterbox!, Dunlop, K&N, Pirelli, Progressive
Suspension, Shoei, Troy Lee Designs, and Ventura.
And lets not forget one of the main attractions - The Ball of Steel Stunts. You can
read more about what BOSS is all about by checking out their feature in our February issue.
In my opinion, DC, in comparison to New York last year, was a better show to
attend because attendees had more of a chance to spend some time with the company
representatives and talk about their specific needs. To find out more about how you can
catch one of the shows on the circuit next year, visit their website at
www.motorcycleshows.com. You can also purchase tickets in advance of the show and
skip the lines - definitely my recommendation!
