When we first talked to Alexis Uhl at the Forged in Ink show, it struck me that she was a really cool chic, who had a great alternative pinup look to her, and best of all, she was tattooing! She could easily be voted Cosmo's next Fun Fearless Female; for those of you reading this with too much testosterone who don't know what that means, ask your girlfriend...or your mom.

We set up a Tuesday afternoon to drive to Kutztown, a small college town in Pennsylvania, to do this shoot with our first Babe of the Month, who makes a living out of inflicting a pain that the majority of our readers are familiar with. Alexis described herself as being the artsy, punk-rock type when in high school, where, in her sophomore year she went to the beach and met a random beach-dude who inspired her to become the artist that she is today.

Her parents insisted on a college education, which she fulfilled with a BFA in Print Making at Kutztown. While going to school, she stepped into the local tattoo shop, Paradise Lost (in its former location), where she started an apprenticeship as a piercer under the direction of Troy. By the time that she had saved the money for a tattooing apprenticeship, she was already a dedicated employee that loved where she worked - as she has been for the past five years.

Alexis' workspace is covered in drawings of pinup girls in the new-school style of bright colors with bold black lines, which is her specialty. As long as she can remember, she has always loved to draw "big booby women", starting when she was young with doodling her rendition of the Little Mermaid. She is inspired by artists such as Vargas & Petty (pin-up artists from the early 1920's), Roy Litchenstein (made pop-art in cartoon-style in the 1960's), cartoon-artwork with the liking of Spawn and the work portrayed in Vampirella.
