Rodney Reprogle from Sevierville Tennessee is proud of his 1953 Ford F- 100. We are all proud of our vehicles, but there are some people that have become jaded by the sport - they’ve been doing it for years and it just doesn’t have the same thrill that it used to. Rodney isn’t one of them!

He purchased the award-winning vehicle in 2003 at Pigeon Forge and has been to twenty-one shows with it so far. At those shows, he has cleaned up the awards and eliminated his competition. But don’t take this the wrong way, Rodney isn’t bragging, he’s just PROUD!

But what isn’t there to be proud of? When builder Gary Poole pulled the pieces of this antique together, he knew what he was doing. He got it right under the tilt out hood with a 1971 Ford motor, a 302 cubic-inch displacement, a C4 transmission, a Weber 650CFM carburetor, and lots of chrome accents. The front end of the Ford was pulled off of a Volare, and the rear end is a 9” Ford with a custom oak wood bed.

The truck ended up being lowered 2-inches, which gives viewers the opportunity to see the work invested on the interior without having to stand on their tiptoes. The tinted power windows reveal Dolphi gauges, a custom dash, a Lokar gas pedal, custom Ford logoed floor mats, a Billet steering wheel, a Durabano headliner, and an Ididit shifter, tilt wheel and steering column. The bench seat has been coated in a gray tweed cloth.

The outside of the Ford got a treat with a coat of Torch Red paint, with a DuPont clear coat.

When choosing wheels for the classic, Rodney kept with the 50’s style and picked the 15 X 8” American Racing Tail Gunner series; the wheel caps are custom Ford logoed.

With all of the work invested in this hardworking Ford, Rodney has a perfectly good reason to be a proud owner!
