February 21 & 22, 2004 was the 26th year of Motorama in Harrisburg; in that time, the event has raised over $118,000 to benefit the Spina Bifida Association of Greater Pennsylvania. This is the first year for the Sport Compact & Motorcycle Show in the new Expo hall of the Farm Show Complex, as well as the Robot Conflict that took place between 1 to 120 pound Bots.

This was also the first show that P&OM Garage exhibited at. We were successful in handing out a ton of flyers to attendees at the show, had the chance to let people know who we were and what we were doing, and had a really great "crew" weekend. We were able to have the Lucky Charms bike that was the cover of February's issue in our booth. It drew many people in to see that we really are doing custom stuff, and not just your average "I bought this tail light at Pep Boys and now my bike is the shit" magazine. At the booth as well were the P&OM girls, dressed in our staff uniforms - Bri, Krista, Stacie and I.

This article highlights a lot of the cars and bikes that were present at the show. The main exhibit hall is where all of the vendors and speed show cars were organized. The Trials & R/C Racing were in the Equine arena and the Large area held the Arena Cross competitions for the weekend. And what would a show be without the presence of Hell's Angels? There was a lot of security in that area, and we don't have pictures, for obvious reasons.

The races are always great to take a break from the day to sit and watch. They have all different classes of age and style of bikes, plus 4-wheelers competing. My favorite is the five-year old class on their dirt bikes – they can't reach the ground when they are on the bike, they can't kick start them on their own, and most of the time, dads and flagmen are running around to pick the bike/kid back up as fast as they fall down.

The Sport Compact area showed some nice modifications to the cars, and the proud owners were happy to share their stories. We managed to find two features in that area: Dennis's 454 from May's issue and Steve's Subaru WRX in the April issue.

Motorama is always a nice, middle of freezing cold weather break to get you to realize that you better get your ass moving "cause' there is only a few months" till show season starts! The show next year is set for February 19-20, 2005. Look for information on their website at www.motoramaassoc.com. And check out our article on the girls of Motorama this month, too!
