During the weekend of March 19-21, the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg PA welcomed the first PA Capital Area Motorcycle, ATV & Personal Watercraft Show to the city. Put on by Davis Promotions, the show was incredible and offered a lot to attendees.
Pudge and Slim attended, and of course some really cool stuff happened because I decided to take the weekend off and sleep in! The highlight of their day was the events taking place in the Main Arena. There, the three brothers that are part of Balls of Steel stunt show put on a topnotch performance. And Pudge got to be on the floor, right in the middle of it all! These kids are crazy. I say "kids" because the oldest brother is not even out of his teenage years yet. We are going to hook up with these guys in the future - so you'll have to wait to find out more.
In addition to the steel ball riding, there was entertainment provided by Empire Racing, Freestyle Motorcross,, and stunt riders throughout the weekend. You could also have the opportunity to sell your bike in the new and used motorcycle barn.
The show was full of dealers, including Big Dog, Indian, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Ducati, Victory, Harley Davidson, Buell, Honda, BMW, Yamaha, Polaris, and the list goes on. Unfortunately, there were supposed to by a lot more vendors present, but a threatening snow storm on Thursday prompted many companies to back out at the last minute. Longriders Magazine was the sponsor of the show.
In the custom and classic motorcycle show, there were 16 different classes, with the opportunity to win up to $8,000 in cash prizes. That's enough of an incentive to bring in some great choppers!
Davis Promotions put on a great show, and were wonderful hosts to their attendees, if you made it to their show. See, there was a separate motorcycle swap meet that took place at the Farm Show Complex in the same weekend. All of the sales staff for the ATV show made sure that you knew which show you were attending before they took your money; not so with the swap meet staff. There were quite a few pissed off people when they got inside a vendor area full of used motorcycle parts instead of getting into a real show! And that promoter wasn't as gracious!
