The 2nd Annual Bicycle Show was held at Eagle’s Picnic Grounds in Carlisle
the first Sunday in April. And, while we are now in the middle of summer, panting like
dogs in heat, it isn’t that hard to remember how blustery and cold that day was for
those of us that were there!
The show was to be held both indoors and out, but due to heavy rains the
week before, the promoters decided to squeeze the bikes all inside. But, walking
around the community building, there were plenty of customized frames and detailed
spokes to be worth straining your neck here or there!
Trophy’s were awarded in seven different categories: first & second places in
custom, radical custom, lowrider and restored, best paint, best in show, and a people’s
choice - pretty good for a $5.00 entry fee!
In addition to the push-bikes that competed in the show, and a booth of
beautiful Hooter’s girls inside, a handful of participants and attendees braved the cold
outdoors to hear the bands that rocked out for their loyal fans and new listeners.
If you want to be a part of the sweeping trend of customizing your old banana
seat peddler, check out this show to get some ideas on a few things that can be done.
Then, check out the promoters - KustomBicycle.com and Bike Tek of Carlisle.
