What: Philadelphia International Auto Show
When: February 3-11, 2007
Where: Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia PA

More than 240,000 onlookers attended the 2007 Philadelphia Auto Show, a nine day event that featured 700 vehicles from over 40 different manufacturers. In other words, they had more eye candy than one person can drool over. They surpassed last year's attendance by 35,000, making 2007 one of the best years in the shows history, which began in 1902.
Not only is this just an auto show, but they also raise money (one dollar per ticket sold) that is donated to the Auto Dealers CARing For Kids Foundation, benefiting The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
The Convention Center was huge, well lit and filled to the corners with some of the newest and oldest rides out there. The cool thing is that you can sit in the cars, pop the hoods and even kick the tires if you want. But stay away from the Concepts, there for viewing only, which really sucked because I wanted to sit in the "New" Camaro. Speaking of Concepts, there were a few there like the Chevy Camaro, which looks a lot cooler in person! Sporting a 400 hp aluminum small block V8 w/a 6 speed to bang through the gears. Chrysler Imperial - Two Words...Freaking Huge! 123-inch wheelbase, inspired by the Classic Imperials of the '30's and '50's. Ford Reflex - A 2 door hybrid delivering up to 65 mpg, and the Jeep Hurricane - BAD ASS! Has 2 Hemi's pushing 670 hp and 740 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.
Also at the show were Pre-production Vehicles, vehicles that will be coming out to the public in the near future. Like the Audi R8, Buick Enclave, GMC Arcadia, Hyundai Veracruz, Pontiac G6 GXP, and the Volvo C30. Then there was the Tuner Salon! Some cool modified rides, even some celebrity rides were there like Bam Margera's '07 Hummer H2 on 30" wheels, a DUB Edition Gold Tahoe that was in Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape Video, Danity Kanes' '07 DUB Edition Dodge Nitro & '07 DUB Edition Dodge Caliber, The Game's '07 DUB Edition SRT8 Jeep Cherokee, and Lil Scrappy's '07 DUB Edition Buick Lucerne.
Last but not least, the Classics! Talk about a history lesson! There was a beautiful display of some of the classiest rides from back in the day and some major muscle too. For instance, there was a 1966 Chrysler 300 convertible, 1 out of only 2500 produced that year, then there was the 1970 Dodge Challenger RT/SE Coupe, now that was something rareÉwhy you ask, because it had a 440ci 4bbl Magnum V-8, 4 Speed manual tranny, Dana 60 Rear end w/3:54 gearing, black leather, black vinyl top, and both the R/T (road/track) and SE (Special Edition) packages. There were only 142 of these made!
So, all in all this show was awesome and I would suggest you go see it the next time its in town!
