The first ever DuPont Great American Nationals cruised into the Giant Center in
Hershey the weekend of May 20th through 22nd. Put on by Goodguys Rod &
Custom Association, hosted by Country Cruisers of Lebanon County, and presented
by Grundy Worldwide Collector Car Insurance, this event drew in hundreds of classics
that filled the parking lots with reminders of days that have passed by.
With a kick off party on Thursday evening and a TGIF party on Friday evening,
this show’s attendees showed that they knew how they wanted their weekend to go!
On Saturday morning, they got serious though. It was time to show and to compete
for some of the 80+ trophies that were awarded at the end of the weekend, including
the Best Bitchin’, Dare to be Different, Fabulous Flames, Ford in a Ford, Memory
Lane, Preacher’s Pick, Righteous Roadster, Sexy Sedan, and the Wild Card Just
‘Cause It’s Neat awards, just to name a few of the unique ones.
While walking around the show field, attendees could see numerous makes and
models from Lil' deuce coupes and hiboy roadsters, to fat fendered Fords &
Chevy's, lead sled Mercury customs, and the classics, such as vintage
Packard's, '57 Chevy's and Corvettes. And it isn’t just the models of cars that
catch your attention; the solid color combos that have been meticulously restored
and shined into beauties that couldn’t be had even when they came right off of
the assembly line.
They weekend was a complete blast, not only for attendees, but also for
the town of Hershey and surrounding areas as they were bombarded a blast
from the past! Check out where the next blasts will be hitting by visiting
