The PA Motorcycle Festival rolled into the Hershey Giant Center June 3rd through 5th with one thing in mind - fun, fun, fun! And with the activities and lineup of bands that they brought with them, it was hard not to have a good time!

The big draw for this Festival was that it was an all weekend event. There were bands playing, freestyle BMX performers, door prizes all weekend, a bike blessing on Sunday, and that’s just the start of it. The unfortunate thing that did dampen some spirits, as it does at so many great motorcycle events, was the weather; it turned out to be a little drizzly off and on all weekend long.

But the rain couldn’t hold anyone back once they were inside the Giant Center! There, the bands kept the audience pumped, and everyone danced until the doors closed and a new band started the next day. The lineup included Family Tradition and Mustang on Friday sponsored by local country radio station BOB. On Saturday, Red Room, Poptart Monkeys, Krypton City Blues Review, and the Martini Brothers played ‘till they couldn’t play any more. Spotus, Zero Gravity, Green Onions, Indica, Ultra Sonic, The Luv Gods, Condition K, and Bridges and a Bottle kept their songs flowing on Sunday, sponsored by WTPA, Central PA’s Classic Rock radio station.

Many riders were anxious for the grand prize drawing that was held on Sunday afternoon that awarded Joe Barley with a Triumph Bonneville America 750 cc. Provided by Capital Area Triumph, his package included a custom paint job, fly screen, sissy bar & rack, solo seat, pillion seat and rack. How much better could his weekend get!?!

For those riders that weren’t so lucky as to win the grand prize, there were awards given in the Display Bike Show. David Shuey with his 2004 American Saviour/Indian walked away with bragging rights as the Best of Show bike. Ten other riders claimed recognition in their own categories, including Classic European, Street Custom Domestic, and Classic Domestic Trike/Side Car.

The Festival was a great time for all the riders that came out, and though dates haven’t been announced yet for next year’s event, you can check out all the details when they are available at www.pamotorcyclefestival.com.
