Steve Parker, the owner and creator of 3D Customs, has added a new segment to the customizing world. With the catchy paint schemes and elaborate chroming in all of the industries that we cover in the magazine, it gets harder and harder to create a “custom” vehicle - especially in the motorcycle world where “custom” choppers are rolling off assembly lines every day. Well, Steve has found his niche.

Spending the past twenty years doing custom fiber glass fabrication on windsurf boards, surfboards, and water crafts on Lake Erie, Steve decided four years ago to take his fabrication skills “a step further”. What resulted is 3D Customs.

He is carving raised 3D images on any part of motorcycles, or any other hard surface. His team uses custom made epoxy resins that they turn into a thick mud. This is then applied to the surface of any vehicle and carved into the desired image. Steve says that because of the attention that is put into each project, the work that they do is very tedious and time consuming, but like anything, the more practice that they get, the faster the process proceeds.

Currently, all of the projects that 3D Customs has completed have been motorcycles, but they aren’t stopping there! The vision? “I really want to do some custom cars and trucks. Could you imagine cars with flames ten feet long streaming down the fenders and hoods, or carving a Dodge Ram head on a Magnum pickup truck . We are also working on anther type of fabrication that will take your breath away! I see some very cool cars and trucks on TV and I know we can do so much better!”

Already, 3D Customs has had recognition - a 3D screaming skull gas tank was sent to Metropolitan Choppers in Maryland for the bikes that they had on Fear Factor.

You can see all of the crazy creations that Steve and his crew are coming up with at www.3dcustoms.com.
