East Coast Minis is a club based out of Maryland, about an hour outside of Ocean City. They hold a show each year that is appropriately named, East Coast Minis! This year, the event took place on June 19 & 20 at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury.

Pudge and I got a late start - you know, when is the last time that I wrote an article that said, 'we left for the show early!'....that's right, I've never written those words! Anyways, this time the late start couldn't be helped. The show took place the same day as the Appalachian Harley Davidson Birthday Bash and Bob took care of set up. It's a long story that doesn't relate to this at all, but let's just say that on a windy day outside, unattended coffee and paper flyers don't mix well. So we had to get more flyers to Bob before we could start on our way. No biggie, right? Well, about an hour away from the show, around 12:30, Pudge actually takes a look at the information about the ECM show and realizes that it only lasts until 4:00! Oops! So, we arrive at the show around 2:00, did a drop and shoot of the show to make sure that we got everything, and then actually took the time to look around.

As does every club or promoter, ECM puts a lot of time and effort into making sure that they can put on the best show possible. And they do a hell of a job in succeeding! They do stuff that isn't as common in other shows - like club games, a chance for clubs to compete against each other in events like the egg toss, tug of war, and the one that Pudge almost got too close to - water chugging (if you chug a gallon of cold water on a hot day, it's coming straight back up!).

In addition to the vehicles that suck it up and sit out in the sun all day, they have an indoor show area. This is also where the club's memorial of Brian Tull is located.

Back outside, we had the opportunity to see some showoffs on sportbikes performing a few tricks, but they were quickly told to stop by security.

If you would like to be a part of the show next year, check out the ECM site at www.eastcoastminis.com (be patient - it's under construction right now). But plan to be there for more than 2 hours!
