My trip to Ocean City Bike Week pretty much sucked. Keith and Amy didn’t get to leave until 9am because of Keith (Zeke) and I. They rode the bike down to Ocean City, which takes four hours and when they got there they went on a 3-4 hour mission trying to find a hotel for us. Amy was carrying the camera on her back and by the time we made it there she was pretty sore and tired.
Anyways, they were waiting on us, and we couldn’t meet them when we were supposed to because my sister decided to go out Friday nite and not come back. She was moving this weekend and Keith (Zeke) and I moved 5 loads of boxes for her in my pathfinder. The trip took 35 minutes one f*#@in’ way. So, by the time her boyfriend got home and his buddies moved the rest of their stuff it was about 8:30pm. Everyone was exhausted and hungry, of course we had beer for the event, but we wanted food. My sister and her boyfriend made the excuse they were going back to the old house to get misc. things and lock up. Well it was going on 11pm and neither of them came back, so we took all the kids and went home. (my niece and her friend, my nephew and my daughter). The next morning around 9:30 she calls, “so are you bringing them back or do you want me to come get them?” She came and picked them up….
We never left PA until 11am. So, figure four hours later we finally reached Ocean City, then we spent another hour sitting at a gas station waiting and hoping that Amy would find a place for us to stay. Amy has the best luck; she walked into a hotel and just before she asked if there were any vacancies some one had decided to check out early. A few seconds behind Amy was another girl looking for a room. Amy bribed the chic behind the counter and we got the room!!! She said she would buy her dinner. Once we got settled in the room, we just sat around waiting for Duval to show up because he was carrying their bags. We all did a shower circulation once he made it and headed for the notorious Seacrets.
We didn’t wait too long to get in, which was good. I guess everyone but Keith (Zeke) and I knew that this is where the “Dirty Banana” drink became popular. I’m a beer drinker so I’m not knowledgeable about many sweet concoctions, even though I was a bartender for a portion of my working career. Actually, I was pretty impressed with the drink, but it’s more like a desert than a get drunk drink. I’m pretty faithful to Miller Lite so that’s what I drank all night, my Keith had a Long Island Iced Tea, and it wasn’t so good. (they are made best at Red Lobster on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, Pa), Oh yeah they’re a hell of a lot cheaper there too.
