The question has come to my attention that certain people are wondering how it is that we pick the bands that we feature - is it their style, their sound, the performance that they put on for the crowd, or just a strange sense of being drawn towards a group of people similar to how ants are drawn towards a beam of bright light - even if that beam is being intensified through a magnifying glass. Read on to find out which of these things enabled this band to be featured.
When we decided to feature TruckStopLoveChild, we were like those ants...unable to escape our destiny of being drawn towards them. Maybe that is because we were at RTB in a fenced in city block, and these two drunk guys kept following us around going 'look what I can do!' while they were signing autographs of small children, riding a mechanical bull, and posing for pictures when we weren't asking them to...anyways, you get the idea!
All right, I'll stop busting on them now; but, seriously, TSLC is the coolest group of guys that I have had the opportunity to hang out with in quite a while. Without sounding too cliche, they have an awesome original rock n' roll/punk sound that is going to hit the sound waves soon. Check out the sample sound clip that we have from their Black Magic LP here.
Now, let me introduce you to the band - Jay (also known as Drunk Jay within P&OM) plays the guitar, deals with the band, drinks, eats, hangs out with his Beagle, Zoey, and when he isn't doing that, he makes a few bucks working construction; he is single, and has no children, 'Thank God'. Next, there is Tony who also plays the guitar, but steps it up a notch and sings some things. He is a sales representative in the snack food industry, and is 'hooked-up' with a girl.
Rich, the drummer of the band, would be the world champion of that game where you see who can be the quietest for the longest. (By the way, I hate that game) He seems like a pretty nice guy, but just sits back and listens. Rich's duty within the band, besides providing the percussion sound, is to be the backbone, the anchor, the force that keeps everyone grounded; and while that is a full time job, he also finds a way to be a forklift operator extraordinaire! He also has a current involvement of some type with a female whose identity was not revealed.
